The Orientation consists of a series of lectures and activities that are designed to help you become acquainted with life in Umeå and studies at our university. It also offers a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. We highly recommend you to take part in the Orientation programme.

Pre-arrival webinar - Wednesday, 18 August
A digital event (in Zoom) that focuses on preparing for your arrival and getting to know more about the Swedish study system and good-to-know about studies here at Umeå University.

Welcome/Orientation day, Wednesday 26 August
Welcome to an afternoon together with other new international students. No need to sign up, just come and meet us!
When? Wednesday 26th of August, 13:00–16:30.
Where? Aula Nordica, Campus Umeå (Universum building).

Break in the middle, around 14:30. You'll have the possibility to meet some of the speakers and also test your knowledge about how to recycle.
Social activities (several dates)
Social activities during Orientation, for all new international students, is organised by the Buddy Programme coordinator.
We offer amazing activities throughout the semester, starting with:

- City Challenge – Date to be decided, outside Förvaltningshuset
- Buddy Programme Opening – Date to be decided, Aula Nordica
- International pub – Date to be decided.
