My research deals with bacterial interactions with surfaces
Bacterial colonization of material surfaces create a multitude of problems in our society, but can also be beneficial. In my research we focus on understanding bacterial colonization of material surfaces. We also try to use this knowledge to create coatings that could prevent bacterial colonization of for example medical devices. In other projects, we investigate how natural coatings of microorganisms (biofilms) influence, and are influenced by, pollutants released into the environment.
