‘Excellence by Choice’ Postdoctoral Programme

The aim of the 'Excellence by Choice' postdoctoral programme is to strengthen world-class life science research in Umeå, Sweden. Nobel Prize laureate Emmanuelle Charpentier is patron of the programme that comprises 17 international fellows. UCMR and UPSC, in cooperation with IceLab, KBC, MIMS and WCMM run the programme.

Research within life science

UCMR, and Umeå Plant Science Centre, UPSC, in collaboration with IceLab, KBC, MIMS and WCMM at Umeå University are currently running the 'Excellence by Choice’ Postdoctoral programme in life science. The programme funds 17 international postdoctoral fellowships and organize activities to strengthen networking and collaborations.

Financing

The programme is funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, the Kempe Foundation and Umeå University with Nobel laurate professor Emmanuelle Charpentier as patron and mentor of the programme.
